A BCI Special Agent Supervisor has completed the FBI National Academy, as announced by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. Kevin Barbeau graduated from the 292nd session on December 12 in Quantico, Virginia. He is now among the 55,797 graduates since the program began in 1935.
Yost expressed his pride in Barbeau’s achievement, stating, “Graduation from the FBI National Academy represents the peak of law-enforcement training, and I’m proud to have another BCI leader achieve this prestigious milestone.” Yost also noted his long-standing respect for Barbeau’s leadership qualities.
Barbeau leads BCI’s Southeast Ohio Special Investigations Unit, focusing on officer-involved critical incidents, homicides, and public corruption. Yost emphasized the importance of skilled personnel by quoting Woody Hayes: “You win with people.”
The Attorney General’s Office has several leaders who have completed this advanced training program. Among them are Rocky Nelson of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission and other senior members like Bruce Pijanowski and Mark Kollar.
In addition to this accomplishment, earlier this year two staff members from the attorney general’s office completed The Ohio State University’s Public Safety Leadership Academy. Matt Hilbert and Scott Stranahan were part of this professional development program.
