Bowling Green State University will host Hoops Night on Tuesday, October 14, to launch the 2025-26 basketball season. The event will take place at the BGSU Letters outside the Bowen Thompson Student Union and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Both men’s and women’s basketball teams will participate in Hoops Night, giving fans a chance to meet players from both squads. The event will include a live DJ, giveaways, prizes, and competitions for students. Although designed with students in mind, all fans are invited.

The men’s basketball team opens its season at home against Texas State on November 3 at 7 p.m. Before the regular season starts, they will play two exhibition games: one at Michigan State on October 23 and another at Dayton on October 27. This year marks Head Coach Todd Simon’s third season leading the team.

The women’s basketball team begins its season on the road against Louisiana on November 3. Their first six games will be away from home before hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on November 30 at 2 p.m. The women’s team also has a preseason exhibition scheduled against Wooster at home on October 24. Head Coach Fred Chmiel enters his third year in charge of the program.

Fans can follow updates about both teams through various social media channels and by visiting BGSUFalcons.com.
