Bowling Green State University announced on May 2 that two of its athletes participated in the Jesse Owens Invitational held in Columbus, Ohio. The competitors faced teams from both the Mid-American Conference and the Big Ten.

The event was significant as it marked the end of the men’s outdoor track season for Bowling Green. The focus now shifts to preparations for cross country in the fall.

Owen Zaumeyer set a new personal best during his race, finishing 21st out of 47 runners with a time of 14:45.63, surpassing his previous record by more than seven seconds. Luke Lesseuer also represented Bowling Green and completed his race with a time of 15:00.88.

The university said this meet concludes their men’s outdoor track activities for the season and confirmed that training will resume ahead of next fall’s cross country competitions.
