Bowling Green State University’s baseball team has released its 2026 season schedule, with Head Coach Kyle Hallock leading the program into his sixth year. The Falcons are coming off a 33-22 record from last year, including a 19-11 finish in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). This marks the first time since 2001-02 that the team has achieved back-to-back 30-win seasons.

The upcoming schedule features 21 non-conference games against 14 opponents, along with 33 conference matchups. Bowling Green will face eight teams that recorded at least 30 wins in the previous season, and three teams that participated in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

The Falcons will play their first home game on March 17 against Findlay at 3 p.m., marking their debut on the new turf field. Six home games are scheduled for March, with additional home matchups against Ohio, Tiffin, and Oakland. Overall, the team is set to host 20 home games during the season. The annual Battle of I-75 rivalry game is scheduled for May 12 at Fifth Third Field.

Coach Hallock commented on the schedule: “We are looking forward to the quality of opponents that our 2026 schedule presents. From nationally ranked programs, to conference champions, to 30-plus win teams, every game will be an opportunity to measure ourselves. Our conference is continuing to improve from top to bottom, and a quality non-conference slate will prepare us to compete at a high level with the rest of the MAC. We are looking forward to hosting our fans and supporters out at the new-look Steller Field. Come on out and wear orange!”

The Falcons begin their non-conference play on February 13 with a series against Georgia Tech. This marks the first time since 2022 that Bowling Green opens its season outside of Tennessee. Georgia Tech ended last year with a 41-19 record and won the ACC Regular Season title before making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament’s Oxford Regional.

Following this, Bowling Green travels to North Carolina for a three-game series with Western Carolina starting February 20. The Catamounts finished last season with a 30-28 record and had five players selected in the MLB Draft.

The team’s first midweek game comes against Cincinnati on February 24. The Bearcats posted a 33-26 record last year and reached the NCAA Regionals. They also entered the top 25 national rankings for the first time in program history.

Bowling Green will then play Samford in Alabama for a three-game series before starting conference play. Samford recorded a 30-win season and was runner-up in the SoCon Tournament.

After Samford, the Falcons’ non-conference games move mostly to midweek contests as MAC play begins. The team faces Dayton on March 10 away and hosts Dayton on April 14. Other non-conference home games include Tiffin (March 24) and Oakland (March 31). In April, Bowling Green travels to face Ohio State (April 7), Canisius (April 15), Michigan (April 22), and Butler (April 28).

Non-conference play concludes in May with games at Michigan State (May 5) and the non-conference edition of the Battle of I-75 against Toledo at Fifth Third Field (May 12).

The MAC portion of the schedule starts March 6-8 at Kent State, followed by a road series at defending MAC champion Miami (OH). The team’s first home conference series is March 20-22 against Ohio. April includes home series against Akron and Central Michigan, with one MAC road trip to UMass. The Falcons host Toledo in late April.

In May, Bowling Green travels to Eastern Michigan before its final home MAC series against Western Michigan. The regular season ends with a road trip to Ball State.
