The Bowling Green State University baseball team lost to Dayton on April 14 at Steller Field, ending their homestand with a 19-6 defeat in seven innings. The game saw both teams score heavily early on, combining for 15 runs over the first three innings before Dayton pulled away.

This matchup was notable for its high offensive output in the early innings. After falling behind by two runs in the first inning, Bowling Green responded with three runs in the second and third, including a solo home run by Andrew DiLodovico and a two-run homer from Anthony Mitta. Despite this effort, Dayton took control by scoring seven runs in the third inning and continued to build their lead through the remaining frames.

Anthony Mitta led Bowling Green’s offense with three hits, including his fourth home run of the season and second of the week. DiLodovico extended his on-base streak to 17 games and recorded his third home run of the year. Brayden Curlis contributed two hits as well, maintaining a strong stretch with hits in seven of BGSU’s last eight games.

Following this loss, Bowling Green will begin a five-game road trip starting at Canisius on April 15. The team announced that any schedule changes will be communicated through their official website and social media channels.
