The Bowling Green State University baseball team lost to Findlay with a final score of 12-7, according to a March 25 announcement from the university. The Falcons mounted a comeback attempt in the later innings but were unable to overcome an early deficit.
This result matters as it concludes Bowling Green’s midweek slate before they return to Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. The team’s performance highlights both areas for improvement and individual player achievements ahead of their upcoming games.
Findlay started strong, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding seven more in the third. By the fifth inning, Findlay led 10-0. Bowling Green responded with five runs in the sixth inning, sparked by singles from Lance Vickers and Zack Horky and capped by Griffin Scheiderer’s two-run single and Vinny Salvione’s sacrifice fly. In the seventh inning, Brayden Curlis hit a two-run home run after Vickers walked, narrowing Findlay’s lead to three runs. However, Findlay added two more runs in the ninth for the final margin.
Several Falcons stood out statistically: Curlis went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI; Scheiderer had two hits and drove in two runs; Vickers scored twice; Pauly Mancino reached base three times with an RBI; Joey Buchanan pitched over an inning without allowing a hit or run while striking out two; Titus Lotz struck out all three batters he faced during his one-inning appearance.
Other notable performances included Mancino extending his streak of games with at least one RBI to four straight contests and Buchanan continuing his string of effective relief outings. Chase Clatur made his debut for Bowling Green, pitching nearly two innings while giving up just one run.
Looking ahead, Bowling Green will resume MAC play this weekend on the road against Northern Illinois for a three-game series starting Friday at 4 p.m. EST. Any changes to this schedule will be posted on BGSUFalcons.com or through official team social media channels.
