The Bowling Green State University baseball team achieved a decisive 10-0 run-rule victory against the Miami (OH) RedHawks on March 14, evening their series and setting up a deciding game. The Falcons opened strong with four runs in the first inning and maintained momentum throughout the game.
This result is significant as it marks Bowling Green’s first shutout since April 27, 2024, and their first shutout against Miami (OH) since May 18, 2021. It is also the team’s first shutout in Oxford since May 4, 2014.
Griffin Scheiderer led the offense by scoring four times and hitting two doubles. Sam Seidel contributed three hits while Vinny Salvione drove in three runs. On the mound, Nate Kress earned his third win of the season after pitching five scoreless innings with a career-high eight strikeouts. CJ Boudreaux and Titus Lotz completed the shutout, combining for a total of twelve strikeouts among all three pitchers.
Scheiderer stepped into the leadoff role for the first time and scored every time he reached base. Salvione extended his hitting streak to eight games and has now recorded back-to-back games with three RBI. Mitta continued his consistent performance at bat with hits in twelve of Bowling Green’s last thirteen games.
