The Bowling Green State University baseball team will complete its early season road schedule this week with four games in Ohio, according to a March 9 announcement from the university. The Falcons are set to play Dayton on Tuesday, March 10, followed by a three-game series against Miami (OH) beginning Friday, March 13.

This stretch marks the end of a lengthy road swing for Bowling Green, as the team prepares for its home opener next week. The Falcons have faced one of the toughest schedules among Mid-American Conference teams so far this season, ranking 39th nationally and first in the conference for strength of schedule. Their non-conference opponents have posted strong records both last year and at the start of this season.

Dayton enters Tuesday’s matchup with a 12-3 record and has been particularly successful at home. The Flyers are currently on a five-game winning streak and have demonstrated offensive strength with a .329 team batting average and 25 home runs over 15 games. Historically, Bowling Green leads the all-time series against Dayton, having won 49 out of their previous 74 meetings.

Miami (OH), meanwhile, holds an 11-4 record and recently swept Eastern Michigan in their first conference series. The RedHawks’ offense is led by Tommy Harrison, who is hitting .442 with six doubles, four home runs, and 21 runs batted in. Miami leads the all-time series against Bowling Green but lost their most recent home series to the Falcons in Oxford during the 2024 season.

Among individual performances for Bowling Green, Ethan Stade recently struck out 11 batters in relief against Kent State—the first Falcon to reach double-digit strikeouts since February 2024. Vinny Salvione has also contributed offensively with a six-game hitting streak that includes multiple extra-base hits and runs batted in.

As they approach their home opener on March 17—set to be played on a new turf surface—the Falcons look to build on defensive strengths as well. Through thirteen games this year, they have turned fourteen double plays, ranking ninth nationally per game and leading their conference.
