The Bowling Green State University baseball team will play its first home midweek games of the season this week, hosting Tiffin on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. and Findlay on Wednesday, March 25 at 6 p.m., according to a March 23 announcement from the university. The start times for both games have been adjusted from their original schedule.
These matchups mark an important point in the Falcons’ season as they return to Steller Field for midweek competition. Last year, Bowling Green was undefeated in home midweek contests with a record of 6-0.
Senior infielder Sam Seidel has played a notable role off and on the field. A graphic design major, Seidel contributed to designing the new outfield wall at Steller Field and was also the first player to hit a grand slam over it during Bowling Green’s recent win against Ohio. Seidel is currently eighth all-time for career stolen bases at BGSU and is approaching top-10 marks in both hit-by-pitch and walks drawn categories.
Tiffin enters this week’s game with a record of 9-14 overall and is currently riding a two-game winning streak after splitting their last series against Ohio Dominican. The Dragons began their season with nine straight losses but have since improved significantly. Bowling Green holds an all-time advantage over Tiffin with six wins in seven meetings.
Findlay arrives at Steller Field with a strong record of 15-9 this year, including seven consecutive victories. The Oilers have performed well recently by sweeping Kentucky Wesleyan and taking three out of four from Malone as well as Gannon. Historically, Bowling Green leads the series against Findlay with a record of 68-16 across their previous encounters.
Freshman catcher Andrew DiLodovico has emerged as an offensive contributor for BGSU, carrying a six-game hitting streak while batting .435 during that span. On the mound, pitcher Ethan Stade has delivered several scoreless outings recently—including seven shutout innings in his latest appearance—while helping lead a staff that averages nearly nine strikeouts per nine innings this season.
As they enter these key home games, Bowling Green looks to build on its early-season momentum while navigating one of the most challenging schedules nationally before entering what is projected to be an easier stretch.
