The Bowling Green State University men’s and women’s cross country teams have been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academic achievements. Both teams received All-Academic Team honors, with the women’s team achieving the highest grade point average in the nation at 3.94. The men’s team ranked eighth nationally among Division I programs with a GPA of 3.72.
Senior Kylee Cubbison was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, an honor given to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and finish among the top 25 at an NCAA regional championship. Cubbison met these requirements by placing 14th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
“This level of accomplishment speaks to the academic focus and prowess of our student-athletes,” said head women’s cross country coach Lou Snelling. “We’re fortunate to have an amazing academic support staff in Student Athlete Services, and our faculty and advisors are the best. They play an integral role in our success and preparation for the future.”
“Our men’s cross country team has worked diligently to establish a high standard of excellence in the classroom while continuing to meet the daily demands of training and competition,” associate head coach Rachel Rhynard said. “Their commitment to balancing academics and athletics reflects the discipline and accountability we value as a program.”
