Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team is set to face Western Michigan on Tuesday night in Kalamazoo. The game, scheduled for 7 p.m., will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast via radio by Todd Walker on WFRO Eagle 99.

The Falcons enter the matchup with a 12-6 overall record and a 3-3 standing in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Western Michigan holds a 7-11 record, including a 1-5 mark in conference play. This meeting marks the 131st contest between the two programs, with Bowling Green leading the all-time series 78-52. On the road in Kalamazoo, Bowling Green has a slight edge with a 33-32 record.

Bowling Green leads the MAC this season in turnover margin (6.06) and steals per game (11.61), while Western Michigan ranks last in both categories with a -2.89 turnover margin and an average of 5.28 steals per game. Javontae Campbell enters as the top scorer during conference play, averaging 23.3 points per game against MAC opponents and ranking fourth in assists at 6.3 per game.

A win for Bowling Green would extend its winning streak in Kalamazoo to three games, maintain its above .500 record there, give the team consecutive MAC victories for the first time this season, and bring them closer to their program milestone of 1,500 wins.

Javontae Campbell is approaching several career scoring milestones. He has scored a total of 1,871 points across all levels of collegiate play and needs just 129 more to reach 2,000 career points. For Bowling Green specifically, he has tallied 800 points and is within reach of becoming the program’s first player since Daeqwon Plowden in 2022 to score at least 1,000 points for BGSU.

Western Michigan recently regained key player Justice Williams, who made his season debut on December 30th and has since averaged a team-leading 19.6 points over five MAC games.

Mayar Wol has started Bowling Green’s last four games and is averaging 22.5 points as a starter during that stretch, having surpassed twenty points three times and consistently making multiple three-pointers each game.

Troy Glover II has become Bowling Green’s leading rebounder over recent contests after not leading through the first fifteen games of the season; he now averages nine rebounds per game over his last three appearances.

Campbell also leads nationally with an average of 3.3 steals per game this season—his total of fifty-nine ranks second in the country—and he is on pace to break both his own single-season school record as well as challenge the current MAC record for steals set by Bonzi Wells during the1997–98 season.
