The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team is set to face Kent State University in a Mid-American Conference (MAC) matchup on Wednesday, February 4, at the M.A.C. Center in Kent, Ohio. The game marks the start of the Falcons’ February schedule for the 2025-26 season, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Fans can watch the game via ESPN+ or listen to live audio provided by Falcon Media Sports. Links to broadcasts and live statistics are available on BGSUFalcons.com.

Bowling Green enters the contest with an 11-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in conference play. Kent State holds a 9-12 overall record and matches BGSU’s conference record at 4-6.

Historically, Bowling Green has been one of the most successful programs in the MAC. The Falcons have achieved a .628 winning percentage in regular-season conference games and have won 15 MAC regular-season titles—tied for the highest total among league institutions—and a league-best 11 MAC Tournament titles. They also lead all MAC teams with winning records against each of their conference opponents.

Junior Paige Kohler was recently honored after surpassing 1,000 career points during a game against Ohio on January 21. She became the 33rd player in program history to reach this milestone and did so as one of the fastest players to achieve it at Bowling Green. Kohler currently ranks 30th on the school’s career scoring list with 1,050 points entering Wednesday’s game.

Sophomore Johnea Donahue has also made significant contributions this season, including being named MAC Player of the Week twice. After returning from injury in December, she recorded a double-double against Kent State and has since posted several strong performances across multiple statistical categories. Donahue leads both her team and the MAC in steals per game (4.16), ranking third nationally, and is among league leaders in several other categories such as assists, rebounds, and minutes played.

Kohler was named to the Preseason All-MAC First Team following her achievements last season when she earned All-MAC Honorable Mention honors and Academic All-MAC recognition. This year she leads Bowling Green in scoring (13.9 points per game) while ranking highly within various conference statistical categories.

The Falcons have used nine different starting lineups so far this season—the most since 2021-22—with ten players making at least one start each. Kohler is currently the only player to have started every game this year.

Sophomore Lauren Gerken has returned from injury to provide additional scoring depth for Bowling Green, reaching double figures in seven of her last nine games and increasing her three-point shooting output significantly over recent contests.

Kent State comes into Wednesday’s matchup after a loss to Ball State but maintains a solid home record this season (5-3). Mya Babbitt leads their scoring efforts with an average of 16.5 points per game.

Bowling Green holds a historical advantage over Kent State with a series lead of 64-39 and won their previous meeting earlier this season by four points.

Following Wednesday’s game, Bowling Green will return home for two matchups: Coastal Carolina on Saturday as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge—also serving as their annual Play4Kay Game—and Buffalo next Tuesday.
