The Bowling Green State University baseball team lost to Central Michigan on April 11, evening the weekend series and setting up a deciding game on Sunday. The Chippewas secured a 5-0 victory at Steller Field, bringing Bowling Green’s season record to 14-18 overall and 8-9 in the Mid-American Conference.

This result means both teams will play a rubber match, now scheduled for an earlier start at 11 a.m. due to expected windy conditions. The winner of Sunday’s game will take the series.

Ethan Stade started strong for Bowling Green, striking out the side in the first inning and recording eight strikeouts over six innings pitched. He has now tallied eight or more strikeouts in four consecutive appearances and five of his last six outings. Lance Vickers led Bowling Green at the plate with a double—the team’s first extra-base hit of the weekend and his first multi-base hit this season.

Anthony Mitta extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single, totaling hits in ten of his last eleven contests. Over this stretch, Mitta has recorded thirteen hits, seven runs batted in, six runs scored, four doubles, and one home run. Andrew DiLodovico was hit by a pitch to extend his on-base streak to fifteen games while Alex Laird drew a walk for an eleven-game on-base streak.

After Sunday’s game concludes at Steller Field, fans will have opportunities for running the bases and postgame autographs with players on the field. Any further schedule changes will be announced through BGSUFalcons.com or via social media channels.
