Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team will host Western Michigan on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for their final week of home games in the regular season. The Falcons, currently sixth in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) standings with three games left, previously defeated Western Michigan earlier this season and aim to secure another win at the Stroh Center.
The matchup marks the 132nd meeting between Bowling Green and Western Michigan, with BGSU leading the all-time series 79-52. At home, the Falcons have a 44-19 record against the Broncos, although Western Michigan won last year’s contest at the Stroh Center by one point. Bowling Green has won four of the last five meetings between these teams, but most recent contests have been closely contested.
A victory on Tuesday would be significant for head coach Todd Simon. “Mark the 51st win for Coach Simon at the helm of the Falcons, giving him the most wins by a BGSU coach in their first three seasons during the program’s MAC Era,” according to university officials. The team could also sweep Western Michigan for a second time in three years and reach double-digit home wins this season.
Tuesday’s game will feature a Black Out event at Stroh Center, with fans encouraged to wear black clothing. Attendees are reminded that a clear bag policy is now in effect at all BGSU venues.
For those requiring accessible parking, additional limited mobility spaces are now available on the north side of Lot 24 near Stroh Center. These designated areas are paid parking and marked with signage; guests should enter through the Student Entrance and may use an elevator to access seating.
On individual milestones, Javontae Campbell leads NCAA Division I with an average of 3.2 steals per game and has matched his own single-season program record of 90 steals from last year. With three regular season games remaining plus postseason opportunities, Campbell is nearing both school and conference records in steals.
Campbell is also among six players nationwide this season to record at least 525 points and 140 assists—he stands alone as having more than 50 steals among that group.
Another player approaching historic numbers is Troy Glover II, who is one block away from entering Bowling Green’s top ten for single-season blocks after recording defensive stats consistently over recent games.
Looking ahead to career achievements, Campbell recently surpassed both 2,000 collegiate points across all levels and reached 1,000 points as a Falcon—becoming just the fifth player in school history to do so within two seasons at BGSU.
Fans can watch Tuesday’s game via ESPN+ or listen live on WFRO Eagle 99 radio.
