Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team will play its first away game of the 2025-26 season against Davidson College on Saturday, November 15. Both teams are currently undefeated with 3-0 records. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start and will be available for streaming on ESPN+ and on radio via WFRO Eagle 99.

This matchup marks the fourth meeting between Bowling Green and Davidson. Last season, Davidson won a close contest in Bowling Green. Entering this weekend, both teams have yet to lose a game this year.

Bowling Green leads the nation in steals per game (17.3) and turnovers forced per game (25.0). These numbers follow a recent performance where the Falcons set both program and Mid-American Conference records with 27 steals against Bethany College while forcing 33 turnovers.

A win would give Bowling Green its first 4-0 start since the 2014-15 season and only its second such start since the 1999-2000 campaign. It would also mark their first road victory over Davidson and even the all-time series at two wins each.

Javontae Campbell has been notable for his defensive play, breaking Bowling Green’s single-season steals record last year with 90 steals. In three games this season, Campbell has already collected 17 steals, leading all players nationally in total steals and steals per game. He tied the program’s single-game record with eight steals against Le Moyne and contributed five to the team’s record-setting effort versus Bethany College.

Davidson also enters Saturday’s contest unbeaten but has seen decreasing margins of victory in each outing: starting with a win over DeSales by 34 points, followed by a win over Washington State by 16 points, then defeating Charlotte by seven points most recently. The Wildcats’ top scorer so far is Hunter Adam, who averages 16 points per game off the bench.

The previous three games between these programs have all been decided by six points or fewer. In last year’s meeting, Javontae Campbell led Bowling Green with 30 points and four steals; Sam Towns added eleven rebounds along with six points and four blocks.

Offensively, Bowling Green is averaging 95.3 points per game while holding opponents to an average of just under 58 points—ranking them among only five NCAA teams that average more than 95 points offensively while allowing fewer than 58 defensively.

Nine different Falcons players have scored double digits through three games this season; five have done so multiple times including Campbell, Javon Ruffin, and Josiah Shackelford who have reached double figures in every game thus far.

This strong opening to the season has drawn attention nationally: “For the first time since the 2023-24 season, the Falcons are receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25,” according to team sources. The Falcons currently sit just outside that ranking at number thirty based on voting results; Akron leads MAC representation at number six followed by Miami (OH) at seven and Kent State at twenty-four.
