The Bowling Green State University (BGSU) men’s basketball team is set to continue its season with two home games at the Stroh Center. The Falcons will play Bethany College on Thursday, November 6, at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup against Le Moyne on Sunday, November 9, at 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast via radio by Todd Walker on WFRO Eagle 99.

This three-game homestand marks BGSU’s longest season-opening stretch at home since the 1998-99 campaign. After their recent victory over Texas State with a score of 83-48, the Falcons have now defeated 268 unique opponents in program history and increased their total number of programs played to 330. The win also marked Bowling Green’s sixth home opener victory in the last seven seasons.

For fans attending games this season, BGSU has announced changes to parking for those with limited mobility. Additional designated spaces are now available on the north side of Lot 24 near the Stroh Center. These spaces remain paid parking and are clearly marked with signage indicating their location. Guests using these spaces should enter through the Student Entrance and can access seating areas via a service elevator.

Media members covering BGSU basketball are advised that they cannot park in the loading dock area and must request parking passes from university staff. Photo and video positions will be assigned for each game upon request through Strategic Communications.

In their season opener, Bowling Green demonstrated strong performance from beyond the arc, shooting 45.5 percent from three-point range while limiting Texas State to just 17.6 percent. These statistics rank among the top 25 nationally for both offense (23rd) and defense (22nd). Among teams ranked in both categories after opening night, only Bowling Green faced a Division I opponent.

Bethany College begins its season against BGSU in what is considered an exhibition game for them before traveling to Kenyon later in the week. The Bison finished last year with a record of 7-18 but start this season under new head coach Brandon Thorsen, who previously served as interim head coach during part of his tenure since joining Bethany’s staff in 2021. In preseason polls, Bethany was picked to finish sixth in its division within the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC). Returning players include Troy Hixson and Ryan Reasbeck—both named PAC Preseason Players to Watch—alongside Co Rose.

Le Moyne enters Sunday’s contest following a decisive win over SUNY Cobleskill led by Deng Garang’s team-high 16 points. Last year, Le Moyne ended with a record of 9-23 overall and was selected ninth in preseason conference standings again this year. Eight players return from last year’s squad; Garang leads this group after his strong opening performance.

Mayar Wol made an immediate impact for BGSU by scoring a perfect six-for-six from the field—including four three-pointers—in his debut against Texas State, finishing with a team-high nineteen points. Nationally, he is one of only four players meeting minimum criteria for perfection both from three-point range (at least three attempts) and overall field goals (at least five attempts).

Troy Glover II is nearing a career milestone after adding twelve points against Texas State; he now sits just two points away from reaching one thousand career collegiate points—a mark already achieved by teammate Javontae Campbell who has tallied more than fifteen hundred across his college career.

Campbell contributed across multiple statistical categories versus Texas State: fifteen points along with team-leading numbers in rebounds (seven), assists (five), and steals (four). He is six steals away from reaching one hundred for his time at BGSU while approaching five hundred total points scored as a Falcon.

With Monday’s home opener win secured—the sixth such result out of seven seasons—the Falcons have opportunities ahead to achieve their first back-to-back home wins since last year or begin a season at three wins without loss for the first time since the start of the decade.
