Bowling Green men’s golf opens fall season at Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate

The Bowling Green State University men’s golf team is set to begin its fall tournament schedule at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, taking place September 13-14 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The event will be hosted by Oakland University at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course, a par 72 course measuring 7,273 yards.

The tournament format includes three rounds for a total of 54 holes. Play will start with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday, covering the first two rounds, and conclude with the final round on Sunday, also beginning at 8 a.m. ET.

Bowling Green had a notable performance at last year’s Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, finishing fourth out of fifteen teams with a combined score of 886 (+22).

This year’s lineup features newcomers Angelo Luciani, Pedro Garcia, and David Chavez joining returning players Andrew Lee and Charlie Pettrone. Senior Ethan Irvine will compete as an individual. Assistant coaches Tyler Nickol and Darin Hudak are making their debuts with the coaching staff during this tournament.

Twelve teams are participating in this year’s event. Alongside Bowling Green are Mid-American Conference schools Toledo and Ohio University. Other competing programs include Oakland, Northern Kentucky, Butler, Wright State, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Indiana University-Indianapolis, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy and Purdue University-Fort Wayne.
