The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team is set to host Ball State for Senior Day on Saturday, March 1, at the Stroh Center. The game will tip off at 2 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to honor the Falcon seniors. Both teams are closely ranked in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) standings, with just one game separating them as part of a five-way tie between positions six and ten. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Todd Walker providing radio commentary on WFRO Eagle 99.

Bowling Green and Ball State have faced each other 97 times, with Bowling Green leading the series 55-42. Although Ball State won their last encounter on January 11, Bowling Green has historically performed well at home against Ball State, holding a record of 33-14. The upcoming game features two of the MAC’s top five three-point shooting teams this season; Ball State ranks fourth at 35.5%, while Bowling Green is fifth at 34.4%.

A victory for Bowling Green would split the season series with Ball State and mark their first three-game winning streak this season, as well as a season-best three consecutive MAC wins. It would also improve their home record to above .500 and bring them back to .500 in MAC play under Coach Simon.

Javontae Campbell has been performing strongly, averaging 23.5 points over his last four games and achieving four consecutive games scoring over 20 points. His performance includes an average of 5.3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

Ball State has had a mixed season since their first meeting with BGSU, currently standing at a MAC record of 7-8 after experiencing both losses and victories in February.

In terms of individual achievements, Marcus Johnson is notable for making 30 consecutive free throws—the longest active streak nationally among players shooting at least 90% from the line.

With only three games left in the regular season, BGSU’s remaining schedule is crucial for their position in the MAC standings as they aim for a spot in the top eight to qualify for the MAC Tournament in Cleveland.
