The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team achieved a 131-50 victory over Aquinas College on Sunday at the Stroh Center. This marks the second-highest point total in program history, just five points short of the record set against Siena in 1989.

The Falcons improved their season record to 7-3 with one non-conference home game remaining before beginning Mid-American Conference play later this month. The win was characterized by high offensive efficiency and strong defensive performance, as Bowling Green finished with a shooting percentage of 68.6% and forced Aquinas into 30 turnovers.

Aiden Goins led all scorers with a career-high 24 points, going 9-for-11 from the field and making all five free throw attempts. Justin Thomas also set a new personal best with 20 points, completing a perfect night shooting: “Proud of the bounce-back effort. The guys did a good job correcting some of the inefficiencies we had yesterday just in terms of the look and feel of intensity. Making shots, making free throws, overemphasis on sharing the ball, I thought we achieved all those objectives. I was happy with the depth and everybody playing well,” said Head Coach Todd Simon.

Mayar Wol contributed 15 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Jason Kimbrough Jr., Javontae Campbell, Makhi Leach, Camden Karel, and Alijah Adem each recorded career highs in various statistical categories during the game.

Bowling Green registered season-highs for assists (26) and blocks (nine), while collecting 25 steals—the second time this year they have surpassed that mark after setting a program record earlier in November.

The Falcons’ next matchup is scheduled for December 16 at home against Chicago State.
