The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team concluded their regular season with a narrow 64-63 loss to Western Michigan. Despite the defeat, Bowling Green secured a spot in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament as the 8-seed due to results from other conference games. The Falcons will face top-seeded Akron on March 13 at Rocket Arena.

In a tightly contested match, both teams exchanged leads throughout. Marcus Johnson and Derrick Butler led Bowling Green with 20 points each. DaJion Humphrey contributed 10 points, while Javontae Campbell provided seven assists. Jamai Felt recorded eight rebounds and two blocks.

Despite holding Western Michigan to a lower shooting percentage, Bowling Green could not secure the win. However, losses by Ball State and Central Michigan ensured their tournament berth.

Bowling Green’s next challenge is against Akron in the MAC Quarterfinals. The game is scheduled for an 11 a.m. tip-off and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
