Bowling Green State University men’s golf program has added Darin Hudak as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Head coach John Powers announced that Hudak, who recently graduated from the program, will return to work with the team.

“We have hit a home run with our staff this year,” said Powers. “Darin has a relentless work ethic and endless pursuit of self-improvement. Combined with the addition of Tyler, our student-athletes will have a tremendous depth of resources for development.”

Hudak’s appointment follows the recent announcement that Tyler Nickol will also serve as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s golf teams. Both coaches bring NCAA playing experience to their roles.

During his time at Bowling Green State University, Hudak achieved a career scoring average of 73.8, ranking second in program history. In his junior and senior years, he posted averages of 72.9 and 73.1, which are among the best single-season marks recorded by a Falcon golfer.

Hudak earned several honors during his collegiate career, including three Academic All-Mid American Conference (MAC) selections and three Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America Scholar awards. In his senior year, he received a MAC Medal of Excellence for achievements in academics, athletics, leadership, and service.

In his new role, Hudak will focus on player development and brand enhancement while assisting in all areas of the program. The Falcons begin their fall tournament schedule on September 13-14 at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
