The Bowling Green State University baseball team announced on March 30 that its scheduled home game against Oakland on March 31 has been canceled due to high winds, with no makeup date set. The Falcons will instead begin a Mid-American Conference series at Steller Field against Akron starting Thursday, April 2.

This update matters for fans and the local community as it marks the start of an extended period of home games for the Falcons. Eight of their next nine games will be played at home, providing supporters more opportunities to attend.

The revised schedule includes three consecutive games against Akron: Thursday and Friday both at 3 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to check BGSUFalcons.com or follow @BGSU_Baseball on Twitter/X for further schedule updates.

During this stretch, Bowling Green is set to play most of its contests in Ohio, with only one road game out-of-state before mid-April. The team’s performance so far this season includes leading the conference in triples—eight by seven different players—and Sam Seidel moving into the program’s top ten for career hit-by-pitches.

On the mound, Ethan Stade has recorded back-to-back quality starts since becoming a Friday starter and is averaging nearly eight strikeouts per appearance over his last four outings. If he reaches qualifying innings pitched, his strikeout rate would lead the conference and rank among national leaders.

At bat, Brayden Curlis has recently improved his performance with key hits during crucial moments and a .412 batting average over his last five games. As a team, Bowling Green’s pitching staff is averaging nine strikeouts per nine innings and is on pace to break its own single-season record set last year.
