The Bowling Green State University men’s golf team finished in second place at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate, which was hosted by Miami of Ohio University from March 23 to 25 at Sweetens Cove Golf Club in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

The tournament saw strong performances from several Falcons golfers. Angelo Luciani and Andrew Lee each went undefeated with a 3-0 record over the three days. Pedro Garcia finished with two wins and one loss, while David Chavez had one win and two losses. LT Harris ended with a record of one win, one loss, and one tie, and Filip Geber recorded two ties and one loss.

In the first round against Seton Hall, Bowling Green secured a decisive 5.5-0.5 victory in singles matches. The Falcons then faced Belmont University in round two, resulting in a tied score of 3-3. In Wednesday’s championship round against Mid-American Conference rival Miami University, the team concluded its run with several close matches but ultimately finished as runners-up.

Head Coach John Powers said: “I’m very proud of the effort from our group this week, the competitive spirit we showed as a whole was as good as I’ve seen in a long time. We made a lot of birdies and made our opponents earn it all week. We continue to show improvement in all areas of the game and are in a very good place at this point in the season.”

Looking ahead, Bowling Green will compete next at the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational hosted by Kentucky University from April 13 to 15 at the University Club of Kentucky.
