Bowling Green State University men’s soccer coach Eric Nichols announced on Apr. 22 the team’s schedule for the 2026 season, featuring a total of 17 regular-season matches with seven home games at Cochrane Stadium.

The announcement is significant as it outlines key matchups and events for Falcons fans and supporters to follow during the upcoming season, including traditional rivalries and conference contests.

Nichols said, “Our 2026 schedule will test us in every way. Facing elite non-conference opponents alongside a demanding MVC slate, our group is motivated and ready to compete at the highest level.” The season will open with a home game against Wright State on August 20 for the I-75 Cup. The team then faces road games at Duquesne and IU Indianapolis before returning home to play Wake Forest on Labor Day.

In September, Bowling Green will face Big East teams Xavier (away) and DePaul (home), followed by trips to Milwaukee and Mercyhurst. The Missouri Valley Conference portion begins Sept. 25 against Western Michigan during Alumni Weekend. Additional highlights include an October stretch of MVC matches against Bradley, Drake (home), Evansville, as well as non-conference games like Oakland.

The regular season concludes with a home match versus Wilmington on Oct. 28 before ending on Nov. 4 at UIC in Chicago. Before official competition starts, three scrimmages are scheduled: hosting Detroit Mercy coached by former BGSU assistant Nate Kopunek, plus away games at Indiana and Purdue Fort Wayne.
