Bowling Green State University will host Coastal Carolina University in the next round of the 2025-26 Mid-American Conference-Sun Belt Conference Women’s Basketball Challenge. The game is scheduled for Saturday, February 7 at the Stroh Center, with tipoff set for 2:00 p.m.

Head coach Fred Chmiel leads the Falcons, who have a 3-2 record in MAC-Sun Belt Challenge games and have won their last three matchups in this series. Bowling Green began its current season with an 82-67 win at Louisiana on November 3. Last year, the team secured victories over Southern Miss at home and Arkansas State on the road during meetings with Sun Belt opponents.

This upcoming contest marks Bowling Green’s first meeting with Coastal Carolina in the context of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. The two teams have met once before, when Coastal Carolina won by a single point, 81-80, during the Coastal Carolina Tournament on November 23, 2018. In that game, four Bowling Green players fouled out.

Entering this matchup, Bowling Green holds an overall record of 8-6 and is 1-2 in conference play. Their next game is scheduled against Northern Illinois on January 10.

Coastal Carolina currently has a record of 7-9 overall and is winless in Sun Belt Conference play at 0-4 as they prepare to face Appalachian State on January 7. Their four conference losses have been close contests, including a three-point loss to James Madison and a two-point overtime defeat against Marshall. According to preseason coaches polls, Coastal Carolina was projected to finish sixth in the Sun Belt Conference. Last season, they recorded 23 wins and reached the semifinals of their league tournament for the first time.

Historically, Bowling Green has performed well against Sun Belt schools with a record of 17 wins and six losses. Most of those games were played against Marshall.

The upcoming game will be available for streaming on ESPN+, which covers all BGSU home games and many away games throughout the season. Audio streams for all games are provided by BG Falcon Media Sports.
