The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team will travel to face the University of Massachusetts Minutewomen on Saturday, January 24. The game is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Center in Amherst, Massachusetts. The matchup was rescheduled from Sunday due to forecasts of severe weather.

Fans can watch the contest on ESPN+ or listen through Falcon Media Sports. Live statistics and links for audio and video streaming are available at BGSUFalcons.com.

Bowling Green enters the game with a 10-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. Massachusetts holds a 13-4 record, including a 5-2 conference ledger. UMass is undefeated at home this season.

The Falcons recently saw junior Paige Kohler surpass the 1,000-point milestone in her career during Wednesday night’s game against Ohio. Kohler became the 33rd player in program history to reach this achievement and tied for seventh-fastest to do so at Bowling Green.

Sophomore Johnea Donahue has made significant contributions since returning from injury, recording multiple double-doubles and earning MAC Player of the Week honors twice this season. Donahue currently leads the MAC in steals per game and ranks fourth nationally in that category.

As a freshman last year, Donahue totaled 69 steals, placing her among Bowling Green’s all-time single-season leaders. This season she has already accumulated 63 steals, leading the conference and continuing to climb up school records.

Kohler was named to the Preseason All-MAC First Team by league coaches after being recognized last year with All-MAC Honorable Mention and Academic All-District honors. She leads Bowling Green in scoring this season with an average of 13.8 points per game.

The Falcons have used nine different starting lineups so far this season due to various circumstances such as injuries and new players stepping into starting roles.

Massachusetts returns eight letterwinners from last year’s team that advanced to the second round of the WNIT after finishing their final Atlantic 10 Conference season with a record above .500. Yahmani McKayle leads UMass in both scoring (16.3 ppg) and assists (5.3 apg).

Bowling Green holds a 2-0 lead over Massachusetts in their all-time series but has not faced them since December 2013 when they won by forty points at home; their previous meeting was also decided by weather-related scheduling changes.

Following Saturday’s matchup, Bowling Green will return home to play Akron before beginning another road trip against Toledo later next week.
