The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team finished third out of 14 teams at the Georgia State Invitational, according to a March 31 announcement. Ava O’Sullivan led the Falcons by securing sixth place individually among 88 competitors.

This result is significant as it marks the team’s fourth top-three finish this season, demonstrating consistent performance throughout their schedule.

O’Sullivan and teammate Sammie Dolce both achieved top-20 individual finishes, with Dolce finishing in twentieth place. The Falcons posted a total team score of 890 (+26), trailing only Georgia State and Emory. Other contributors included Macie Elzinga, McKenzie Miller, Addison Kartusch, and Shelby Hardwick.

Head coach Erin Fahey said, “I am really proud of the team for this week’s performance. Yesterday, we came out a little flat and struggled to get it going as a group. The team wasn’t satisfied with their performance yesterday and came into today with a competitive mindset to move up the leaderboard. They played great golf today. To shoot the lowest team score in round 3 and move up 3 spots on the team leaderboard was great. Adversity hit yesterday, and the team responded today. Huge shoutout to Ava for her back-to-back under-par rounds. She played great golf, and it was fun to be a part of. We will take the next week or so to clean up a few things to be ready to compete at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational.”

Looking ahead, Bowling Green will host its final tournament of the season—the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational—at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green from April 11-12 before participating in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
