The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team is set to continue its six-game homestand, the longest in program history, with a matchup against Le Moyne College on Tuesday, December 16 at the Stroh Center. The game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+, with audio available through Falcon Media Sports Network.

Head coach Fred Chmiel leads the Falcons into the contest after a series of record-breaking performances. In their last three games, Bowling Green has posted historic wins, including a 103-32 victory over Kentucky State on December 3—a margin of 71 points that set a new school record. That record was surpassed just four days later when the Falcons defeated Defiance by 83 points, finishing with a score of 118-35.

Junior Paige Kohler made program history in the most recent game against Lourdes University on December 14 by recording Bowling Green’s first-ever triple-double. Kohler finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. “That’s it. That’s the list,” noted team officials regarding triple-doubles in BGSU women’s basketball history.

Bowling Green has also reached or exceeded the 100-point mark in each of its last three games—an achievement matched only once before in school history during the late 1980s. The team’s scoring output included setting new records at the Stroh Center: first with 103 points against Kentucky State and then surpassing that total with 118 points versus Defiance.

In their win over Lourdes, Kohler and junior Joniyah Bland-Fitzpatrick each scored 17 points, while redshirt junior Jasmine Fearne and sophomore Lauren Gerken added 16 apiece. The Falcons held a significant rebounding advantage (49-33) and shot over 57 percent from the field.

Kohler’s performance this season has earned her a spot on the Preseason All-Mid-American Conference First Team. She leads Bowling Green in scoring at 14.6 points per game and ranks among conference leaders in several statistical categories. Since joining BGSU, she has started all of her team’s games and accumulated notable career totals across multiple categories.

The starting lineup has seen changes this season, with senior Emily Siesel and redshirt junior Jasmine Fearne making their first starts together during a November game against Alaska Anchorage. Both players have since contributed career-high performances.

Defensively, junior Taya Ellis leads the Mid-American Conference in blocks per game (1.40) and continues to climb Bowling Green’s career blocks list.

Le Moyne College enters Tuesday’s contest with a record of 1-8 under head coach Nick DiPillo, who previously served as an assistant at BGSU. Eli Clark leads Le Moyne in scoring at just under ten points per game.

This will be the first meeting between Bowling Green and Le Moyne in women’s basketball. Following Tuesday’s game, Bowling Green will conclude its homestand with a conference opener against Kent State before traveling to Eastern Michigan after the holiday break.
