The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team concluded its fall season with a fifth-place finish at the Powercat Invitational, held at Colbert Hills in Manhattan, Kansas. The event, hosted by Kansas State, featured a par 72 course spanning 6,446 yards.

Head coach Erin Fahey commented on the team’s performance: “The team battled some tough conditions on a demanding course. We showed flashes of some really solid golf but struggled when conditions became tougher.”

Fahey also recognized standout player Addison Kartusch for her efforts. “I am proud of them for fighting until the end. Shoutout to Addison Kartusch for her top 10 finish this week. She has been a leader for us on and off the course all fall!”

Kartusch led Bowling Green with a score of 227 (+11), tying for ninth place individually. Ava O’Sullivan followed with a score of 232 (+16), finishing tied for 17th. Other contributors included Macie Elzinga (234, +18), Sammie Dolce (245, +29), and Clare Yeazell (272, +56).

Reflecting on the season as a whole, Fahey said: “Overall, we had a successful fall season with a victory and three other top 5 finishes. We are looking forward to a little break here, but then we will get back to work quickly to improve during the offseason.”

Bowling Green’s fall campaign included top-five finishes in each tournament they entered and one tournament win at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational hosted by Central Michigan.

In the final team standings at the Powercat Invitational, Kansas State secured first place with an overall score of 877 (+13). Cincinnati finished second at 904 (+40), while Wichita State placed third at 925 (+61). Bowling Green shared fifth place with North Dakota State; both teams posted scores of 939 (+75).
