The Bowling Green State University (BGSU) women’s golf team is set to compete in the Diane Thomason Invite in Iowa City, Iowa, from September 29 to 30. The event will take place at Finkbine Golf Course, a par-72 course measuring 6,437 yards.

Last year, BGSU finished tenth at the same tournament with a total team score of 941. Ava O’Sullivan led the Falcons individually with rounds of 79, 73, and 80 for a combined score of 232 (+16).

The team’s practice round was scheduled for Sunday at noon. The tournament will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. EST. Competitors will play the first two rounds (36 holes) on Monday and conclude with the final round (18 holes) on Tuesday under stroke play rules.

This year’s field includes teams from Iowa, Montana State, Creighton, Southern Miss, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, St. Thomas, Drake, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Nebraska-Omaha and South Dakota.

Bowling Green’s lineup features Addison Kartusch, Macie Elzinga, Sammie Dolce, Ava O’Sullivan and Audrey McIntyre.

The Falcons enter this tournament following two strong performances earlier in their fall season. They won the A-Ga-Ming Invitational in Kewadin, Michigan with a program-best team score of 873. Addison Kartusch also claimed individual honors at that event by shooting a total of 205. In their next outing at the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State University they posted an overall score of 899 and finished fourth.

After this week’s competition in Iowa City the Falcons will have several weekends off before wrapping up their fall schedule at the Powercat Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas.
