The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team faced Kent State Golden Flashes at the Stroh Center on Tuesday. Despite a strong second-half performance, scoring 56 points, the Falcons fell short in their comeback attempt, losing 91-84. They will now travel for their next two games, including a match against Toledo on Friday.

Trailing 41-28 at halftime, the Falcons narrowed the gap to four points with three minutes remaining. However, they couldn’t close it further as Kent State secured victory by adding final points from free throws.

Javontae Campbell led Bowling Green with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, also contributing five assists. Marcus Johnson scored 21 points with three three-pointers. Wilguens Jr. Exacte and Jamai Felt combined for 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Coach Simon reflected on the game: “It was kind of along the theme of what we’ve had in a number of games. We just can’t get over that hump.” He noted defensive shortcomings and emphasized improving defense to achieve success.

The Falcons will face Toledo next in the Battle of I-75 before playing Eastern Michigan on February 25th.
