Buckeye Firearms Association announced on Mar. 19 that it will sponsor two tactical carbine training classes this July, focusing on the use of AR-style modern sporting rifles. The courses are scheduled for July 18 and 19 at E.A.S.T. Group in Fredericktown, Ohio, with each session limited to 24 participants.

The classes aim to provide both beginners and those with experience a chance to improve their skills with AR-platform firearms. The first course is designed for individuals who have purchased an AR but lack formal hands-on training, while the second is intended for those who already have a good working knowledge of the platform.

The Phase 1 class on July 18 will cover firearm disassembly and assembly, maintenance, sight zeroing techniques, loading and unloading procedures, shooting positions such as standing, kneeling, and prone, as well as drills to help participants get on target quickly. Tuition is $225 per person and includes instruction, targets, and range access.

The Phase 2 class on July 19 builds upon the first course by offering more advanced training at varied distances up to 150 yards. It emphasizes movement, use of cover, speed and accuracy drills, and is suitable for newer shooters or those seeking a refresher. Students aged 14 or older may participate if accompanied by a parent onsite.

E.A.S.T. Group was established in 2012 by professionals aiming to provide realistic training programs for individuals and organizations. Its instructors bring experience from public, private, and military sectors. The facility spans 52 acres in rural Central Ohio with multiple ranges out to 225 yards and various scenario-based training areas.

According to the official website, Buckeye Firearms Association advocates for the right of individuals to own and use firearms for legal pursuits including self-defense, hunting, competition and recreation. The organization concentrates its efforts in Ohio according to its official website and delivers alerts on laws and politics concerning gun rights according to its official website. It also offers updates on gun rights legislation, training information and details on related events according to its official website. Buckeye Firearms Association functions as a grassroots entity focused on firearm rights according to its official website.
