Buckeye Firearms Association announced on Mar. 23 that registration is now open for its upcoming ‘Move or Die’ training class, scheduled for Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place at E.A.S.T. Group, located at 2535 Wilson Road in Fredericktown.

The course aims to provide concealed carry holders with practical skills that go beyond basic range training and focus on real-world self-protection scenarios. According to the announcement, “In a real-world attack, if you don’t MOVE decisively, you will die where you stand.” The class is designed to combine movement, critical thinking, working from concealment, and delivering purposeful shots while focusing on getting to safety.

Participants will engage in drills focused on close-range situations—referred to as the “7 yards to bad breath” distance—where they will practice moving off the “X,” shooting from compromised positions, adjusting sight pictures under stress, and preparing for worst-case scenarios. The program emphasizes the importance of using an everyday-carry firearm during training and requires attendees to demonstrate safe gun handling skills such as muzzle awareness and trigger finger discipline.

Tuition for the course is $225 per person and includes instruction, targets, and range access. Topics covered include marksmanship fundamentals, drawing from concealment, reloading techniques, managing malfunctions, unconventional shooting positions, movement strategies, use of cover, distinguishing between shooting versus fighting with a gun, and understanding differences between range practice and real-life encounters.

According to the official website, Buckeye Firearms Association advocates for individuals’ rights to own firearms for legal purposes including self-defense and recreation. The organization concentrates its efforts in Ohio according to its official website and functions as a grassroots entity focused on firearm rights according to its official website. It also delivers alerts about laws affecting gun rights according to its official website while providing updates about legislation changes and training opportunities according to its official website.
