Cleveland police have arrested three 16-year-old juveniles in connection with a series of car break-ins and a shooting incident that occurred on October 26, 2025. The arrests followed a coordinated effort by the Cleveland Division of Police Second District after several reports of vehicle break-ins.

Detectives identified two vehicles suspected to be involved in the crimes. On the night of October 26, officers responded to a felonious assault shooting on East 115th Street. The vehicle linked to the shooting matched one associated with the earlier car break-ins.

Fifth District officers, assisted by the Cleveland Police helicopter, located the suspect vehicle as it fled from the scene. Three suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot; one was seen carrying a rifle. The NICE Unit and helicopter unit apprehended all three suspects without reported injuries. Officers recovered an illegally modified AR 5.56 rifle with a cut-off barrel at the scene.

The vehicle used in the incident was confirmed stolen from Cleveland Heights. A second vehicle thought to be connected to the car break-ins was found and recovered on Shale Avenue in the Fourth District for evidence processing.

All three juveniles were transported to and accepted into the Juvenile Detention Center, with charges pending through juvenile court.

“I would like to commend the men and women involved in this operation. Unfortunately, these young men caused significant harm to our community and put both the public and our officers at risk. They are now in the hands of the justice system and must be held accountable for their actions,” said Chief Todd.
