Cotton prices continue upward trend with Thursday morning rally

Cotton prices rose by another 50 to 60 points on Thursday morning, following a rally that saw futures increase between 77 and 137 points at the close on Wednesday, April 17. The US dollar index was down $0.033 to $97.875, while crude oil gained 12 cents for the day.

The Seam reported sales of 5,245 bales on April 14 at an average price of 72.10 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index increased by 145 points to reach 85.80 cents on the same date. ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at a level of 159,512 bales as of Tuesday. Additionally, the Adjusted World Price climbed by another 175 points last week to reach 58.74 cents per pound.

For specific contract closings: May ’26 Cotton ended at 75.11 (up by 77 points and currently up another 56), July ’26 closed at 77.42 (up by 90 and now up an additional 51), and December ’26 settled at 78.35 (up by115 and now up another57).
