The Mid-American Conference announced on March 9 that Ethan Stade has been named the Pitcher of the Week. This is Stade’s first career honor at Bowling Green State University and marks the first weekly recognition for the Falcons this season, following three such honors last year.

Stade earned the award after a strong performance over the weekend, where he struck out 11 of the 14 batters he faced during his four-inning outing on Saturday. He allowed only one hit, did not give up any runs, and secured an extended save for his team. His 11 strikeouts are the most by a Falcon since 2024, and contributed to a team total of 16 strikeouts—the highest for Bowling Green since 2019.

Bowling Green will next play a midweek game at Dayton on Tuesday, March 10, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. The Falcons will then resume their conference schedule with a weekend series at Miami (OH) starting Friday, March 13. Any changes to these schedules will be posted on BGSUFalcons.com and shared via social media channels.

Fans can follow updates about the Falcons’ baseball team through various platforms including Twitter (@BGSU_Athletics and @BGSU_Baseball), Instagram (‘bgfalcons’ and ‘bgsu_baseball’), Facebook (‘BGSU Athletics’), and YouTube (‘Falcons Athletics’).

The recognition highlights Stade’s contribution to Bowling Green’s pitching staff this season as they continue their campaign in both non-conference and conference play.
