Five BGSU men’s golf players named to Academic All-MAC team

Five members of the Bowling Green State University men’s golf team have been recognized on the 2024-25 Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) list, according to an announcement from the conference.

The honorees are Luke Evans, Zander Gibson, Darin Hudak, Ethan Irvine, and Evan Johnson. Hudak received this recognition for the third time, while Evans and Irvine earned their second selections. Gibson and Johnson were named for the first time in their careers.

The Academic All-MAC award is given to student-athletes who demonstrate strong performance both in athletics and academics. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and must have participated in at least half of their team’s competitions during the season. The award is not available to first-year freshmen or first-year junior college transfers.

The full list of Bowling Green’s Academic All-MAC honorees includes: Luke Evans (Senior, Individualized Studies, 3.30 GPA), Zander Gibson (Senior, Business, 3.419 GPA), Darin Hudak (Senior, Finance, 3.941 GPA), Ethan Irvine (Junior, Sport Management, 3.934 GPA), and Evan Johnson (Senior, MBA, 3.790 GPA).

“Academic All-MAC is awarded to a student-athlete who has excelled in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport. First year freshmen and first year junior college transfers are not eligible.”
