FOIA Request to Miami University-Oxford regarding recent course syllabi on August 6, 2025.

A request was submitted by Buckeye Reporter to Miami University-Oxford seeking access to a comprehensive list of course syllabi for all undergraduate and graduate courses offered during the Spring 2025 academic semester. The request was made under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., and specifies a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.

The requested records include syllabi from all departments, schools, and colleges within the university, regardless of whether the courses were conducted in-person, online, or through hybrid formats. Additionally, the request seeks associated metadata such as course titles and numbers, instructor names, department or academic unit affiliations, and course delivery formats.

Buckeye Reporter emphasizes its role in providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable by disseminating information to the public. The organization also highlights its affiliation with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit corporation dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
