The City of Grove City Parks and Recreation division hosted the America 250: Red, White and Vroom Car Show on April 11, drawing hundreds of attendees to Brookpark. The event marked the first time this car show was held in the city.

More than 40 vehicles were displayed at the event, including classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, farm equipment, emergency vehicles and service vehicles. The car show followed the final winter farmer’s market of the season. Organizers said that outdoor activities will continue with the Grove City Chamber Farmer’s Market starting May 9 in Town Center.

Heather Brokaw, Special Events Supervisor for Grove City, said: “We were blown away – not just by the incredible reception from the community, but by the number of car owners, organizations and businesses who showed up, each bringing their own unique forms of transportation to share.” Brokaw added: “This event was truly a celebration of the America 250 April theme of transportation, highlighting how it has kept Ohioans moving, both in the past and present. It was a great way to continue building momentum for our America 250 celebration as the weather begins to turn and we can get outside and engage the community in our parks and open spaces.”

Parks and Recreation will next host EcoFest beginning at 9 a.m. on April 18 in Town Center. This event will feature a five-mile ride-along called “Bike with Ike,” hands-on activities for attendees, local vendors and other attractions.

The next America 250 event is scheduled for May 9 with Grove City’s first Book Festival taking place in Town Center alongside Southwest Public Library events. Additional information about upcoming city events can be found at GroveCityOhio.gov/Events.
