The City of Hilliard announced on May 4 that its summer events season will return, offering a range of activities and programs for residents of all ages. The announcement includes the return of popular community gatherings such as Touch a Truck, Celebration at the Station, Motivation at the Station, and Bring the Zoo to You.
The summer events are designed to bring residents together and provide opportunities for recreation, entertainment, and community engagement. These activities support Hilliard’s goal to promote cultural connections among its residents by hosting public gatherings and preserving local heritage sites, according to the official website.
Touch a Truck is scheduled for Thursday, May 14 in Downtown Hilliard. This event allows families to interact with vehicles such as semi-trucks, police cruisers, and fire engines. Additional attractions include face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, and other hands-on experiences aimed at children and adults alike.
In June, Celebration at the Station will begin on Thursday evenings with live music performances in Hilliard’s Station Park. The opening night features Alexis Gomez along with food and drinks from local businesses. Saturday mornings will feature Motivation at the Station fitness sessions starting June 7 in the same park; these classes require no registration. Bring the Zoo to You returns on Sunday afternoons beginning June 8 at Britton Farms Park where visitors can meet animals from Columbus Zoo alongside family-friendly activities.
Hilliard’s Recreation and Parks Department maintains athletic fields and offers programs through facilities like The Well campus which features gymnasiums, pools, fitness areas as well as various parks across town according to information from its official website. Funding for these operations comes from annual budgets managed by Hilliard’s Finance Department.
