Ohio consumers who own or lease certain Hyundai or Kia vehicles may be eligible for compensation and free anti-theft protection as part of a multistate settlement, according to an announcement from Attorney General Dave Yost.
The settlement provides that eligible vehicle owners can receive a zinc-reinforced ignition cylinder protector installed at no cost. Additionally, those whose vehicles were stolen or targeted in a theft attempt on or after April 29, 2025, may qualify for restitution covering certain related expenses.
“Consumers who qualify will receive notice from Hyundai or Kia and have one year after notice is sent to schedule the free installation at an authorized dealership,” the statement read.
Ohio residents seeking more information about eligibility or how to file a claim are directed to visit www.HKMultistateimmobilizersettlement.com for Hyundai vehicles. For Kia vehicles, consumers can visit https://customercare.kiausa.com/SWLD or call (800)-333-4Kia (4542).
