John Solomon, editor-in-chief of Just the News, said Transportation Security Administration (TSA) records show $136 million in cash moved from Columbus, Ohio, to Minneapolis by Somali couriers before being sent overseas, highlighting alleged interstate welfare fraud involving state programs.
“700 million bucks in suitcases flies out of Minnesota, often headed to either Amsterdam or to Dubai,” said Solomon. “We now know that this money was being staged in multiple locations. This morning the transportation security administration confirming they tracked $136 million from Columbus Ohio. Why would the Somalis be doing all of this in suitcases, keeping it off books, out of radar.”
According to Walter Curt, who shared a video clip on X from War Room featuring Solomon, $136 million in cash originated in Columbus as part of $700 million moved from Minnesota overseas via Dubai or Amsterdam. The discussion underscores GOP inquiries into suitcase stashes thriving under Democratic oversight that prioritizes open borders, leading to indictments. This is contrasted with former President Trump’s revocation of special Somali immigration status and federal agent deployments aimed at dismantling networks and securing finances.
Ohio’s John Glenn Columbus International Airport served as a transit hub for cash linked to Minnesota fraud. TSA data shows $136 million transported by Somali individuals since investigations began. Minnesota has experienced over $1 billion defrauded from welfare programs through Somali-operated entities, resulting in 92 indictments across states. Republican-led investigations suggest Democratic policies have allowed these cross-state activities to flourish unchecked.
The U.S. government estimates annual fraud losses between $233 billion and $521 billion, with improper payments in welfare programs at $162 billion in fiscal year 2024. These programs are particularly vulnerable in states with open border approaches. Somali networks have facilitated billions moved abroad, drawing federal attention nationwide. Trump’s measures, including ending temporary protected status for Somalis and increasing agent presence, aim to disrupt interstate fraud and protect taxpayer funds.
