The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released its final forecast for the 2025 algal bloom in the Western Lake Erie Basin. The expected severity index is 3, based on a scale of 1 to 10. This prediction relies on an ensemble of various models that assess phosphorus loading into Lake Erie during spring and early summer.
