Lancaster City Schools announced on April 22 that families with children entering kindergarten in the fall are invited to attend a Kindergarten Welcome event on April 30 at their neighborhood elementary buildings.

The event aims to help new students and their families become familiar with the school environment and staff before the academic year begins. This welcome is intended for all incoming kindergarteners across the district.

Families are encouraged to attend the gathering at their designated elementary school. For those who have questions or need more information, Lancaster City Schools provided contact numbers for each building: Gorsuch West Elementary (740-687-7332), Medill Elementary (740-687-7352), Mt. Pleasant Elementary (740-687-7338), Tallmadge Elementary (740-687-7336), and Tarhe Trails Elementary (740-687-7330).

The district said this event is an opportunity for parents and guardians to ask questions directly of school staff and ensure a smooth transition into kindergarten.

As Lancaster City Schools prepares for its incoming class, it continues efforts to engage families early in the educational process.
