Linda Walker, President and Chairman of the PAC at Buckeye Firearms Association, has announced her candidacy for re-election to the National Rifle Association (NRA) Board of Directors. In her statement, Walker addressed recent internal challenges within the NRA and emphasized efforts to reform the organization.
“As much of the NRA membership and the world knows, up until this past year, it has been tumultuous within the NRA. The sins, the greed, the arrogance of past leadership took our great organization into the negative news and court systems. The malfeasance brought on by a few, was kept from the bulk of the Board until it was disclosed in court documents. In September 2019, in a private 2-hour meeting with the former leader, I communicated my disgust in his lack of leadership and guidance. No doubt, it likely fell on his deaf ears. As I read every single court document – there were thousands, and many had nearly 200 pages to them – I became angrier what these people had done to our NRA.”
Walker described how she joined others to push for reforms within the NRA. “Six of us came together to form the new NRA 2.0. Our group, now known as reformers, grew to the majority of the Board members. May 20, 2024, is a historical day in NRA history when the reformers elected 3 out of the 4 candidates we had for the new leadership. And then on April 28, 2025, we succeeded in electing all the officers from the NRA 2.0 reformers group. I can say without hesitation, with this leadership, NRA 2.0 has changed the direction of the ship, and we are sailing forward to the betterment of our beloved NRA.”
She recounted her initial involvement with gun rights advocacy after obtaining an Ohio concealed handgun license following passage of relevant state law while working as a Realtor—a profession she found dangerous.
“I wasn’t looking for a cause… but shortly after getting my CHL [concealed handgun license], I hosted a standing-room-only meet & greet with other gun owners,” Walker said. She soon joined Buckeye Firearms Association’s leadership.

She received endorsements from organizations such as Buckeye Firearms Association—an entity providing information about firearms legislation events in Ohio (official website).
