The Loveland City School District announced on April 22 three administrative changes at Loveland Middle School for the 2026-27 academic year. Dr. Amanda Robinson, currently the Assistant Principal, will become Principal of Loveland Middle School, while Mike Simich has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal.
These changes are significant as they come after current Principal David Knapp accepted a position as Chief Innovation Officer with Mason City School District. The district aims to ensure a smooth transition and continued support for students and staff during this period of change.
“As an assistant principal, I’ve gotten to work very closely with students and their families, and it is truly work I love doing each and every day. So while there will be some shifts in my responsibilities, I am very excited to continue to lead Loveland Middle School,” Dr. Amanda Robinson said.
Robinson has served as Assistant Principal at Loveland Middle School since 2021. Her previous roles include Assistant Principal at Middletown Middle School and positions as Assistant Athletic Director and Dean of Students at Northwest High School. Simich joins from St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Junior/Senior High School where he was assistant principal since 2025; he also taught social studies at Princeton High School and Taft Information Technology High School. His hiring was approved by the Board of Education during its April 21 Business Meeting.
“I am honored to join the leadership team at Loveland Middle School. I look forward to partnering with Dr. Robinson and our dedicated staff to support the continued excellence of the Tiger family. Together, we will remain focused on providing an environment where every student can thrive and succeed,” Mike Simich said.
Superintendent Mike Broadwater concluded: “We wish David the best, and know that he’ll do an outstanding job for the Mason community. We are fortunate to have Dr. Robinson ready to take the lead at Loveland Middle School, and excited that Mike Simich is becoming a Loveland Tiger.”
