“A Wordsmith’s Work,” written by Communications Counsel founder Mark Weaver, received a Readers’ Favorite Honorable Mention award for February.

Only four other books won awards in the nonfiction writing/publishing category.

“I’m grateful this book has been recognized by Readers’ Favorite as a top book on writing,” Weaver told the Buckeye Reporter. “Over the past 30-plus years of my career, I’ve worked hard to hone my writing — for myself and for my clients. A Wordsmith’s Work takes all I’ve learned and written over the years and puts it together into an easy-to-reference guide.”

Now in its fourth edition, Weaver originally published “A Wordsmith’s Work” in 2017. The book contains dozens of examples of Weaver’s writing in a variety of styles, including strategy and tips on how to improve your own writing. It also includes specific chapters to aid industry leaders in law enforcement, health care, food service and higher education, according to Amazon.com.

“A Wordsmith’s Work” was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2022 Readers’ Favorite Awards in the nonfiction writing/publishing category. The awards have been given for 14 years, according to the Readers’ Favorite website. There are seven overarching categories, with dozens of subcategories.

Reviewer Vincent Dublado noted, “With its solid tips and no-nonsense delivery, it is a book worth visiting regularly.”

Weaver’s book has been endorsed by two U.S. Congresspeople, as well as former Ohio Attorney General Betty Montgomery.

“This collection of Mark Weaver’s work shows his innate ability to capture the art of messaging. By combining logic, facts and often humor, Mark hits home with his audience,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) said on AWordsmithsWork.com.
