The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is urging Ohio residents to support local small businesses during the state’s upcoming sales tax holiday. The event will run from midnight on August 1 through 11:50 p.m. on August 14.
Cameron Garczyk, Assistant State Director for NFIB Ohio, said, “Ohio’s sales tax holiday is always a great opportunity to shop small, but especially this year since the holiday has been extended to two weeks. When you shop locally and dine at small businesses, you are keeping your hard-earned money in your community and strengthening the local economy. We hope Ohioans will shop small during the 2025 sales tax holiday and support small businesses.”
During the sales tax holiday, most tangible personal property priced at $500 or less will be exempt from state sales tax. Items such as clothing, electronics, books, dine-in food, and beverages are included among the exemptions.
