NFIB’s Ohio Leadership Council held its fourth quarter meeting on October 16 in Columbus. The council discussed several topics affecting small businesses, including property tax reform, redistricting efforts, and health care legislation. Guest speakers addressed policy issues relevant to small business owners.
Jared Weiser, NFIB Ohio State Director, said, “We had a productive discussion at our latest Leadership Council meeting and hit on a lot of issues that are currently impacting our members. 2026 is going to be a big year for small businesses legislatively and politically, and our Leadership Council is ready to engage with lawmakers and advocate for Main Street.”
Bill Seitz, co-chair of the Ohio Property Tax Reform Working Group, and Beth Blackmarr of Citizens for Property Tax Reform provided updates on property tax reform at the Ohio Statehouse. This issue is expected to have a significant effect on Ohio’s small business community.
The organization also recognized several members for their long-term membership and commitment to supporting small businesses. “We were honored to recognize a few of our long-time members and personally thank them for all they have done to advocate for small businesses,” said Weiser.
NFIB encouraged those interested in participating in future meetings to contact State Director Jared Weiser for more information.
