The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Ohio Political Action Committee announced on March 24 the endorsement of seven candidates for seats in the Ohio General Assembly. The committee, made up entirely of NFIB members from across Ohio, said it based its decisions on each candidate’s record and stance on key issues affecting small businesses.

The endorsements are significant as they highlight which candidates are viewed by small business owners as supportive of policies that impact their operations during a period marked by economic uncertainty.

Jared Weiser, NFIB Ohio State Director, said, “It’s crucial that we elect pro-growth candidates this primary election, and we are confident that this group will continue to deliver for Ohio’s small business community.” Weiser added, “Small business owners know the importance of electing officials who will prioritize the small business economy, especially at a time when economic uncertainty is high. We are pleased to endorse this group of candidates and look forward to continuing to work with them on behalf of Ohio’s small businesses.”

The endorsed candidates include Zac Haines for Senate District 7; Brian Lorenz (an NFIB member) for House District 60; Andrew Brenner for House District 61; Jean Schmidt for House District 62; Brian Lampton (an NFIB member) for House District 70; Gary Click for House District 88; and Larry Kidd (an NFIB member) for House District 93.

The endorsements reflect ongoing efforts by the organization to support legislative leaders who align with priorities important to local entrepreneurs. No additional background or context was provided in the announcement.
